Life goal: To dazzle and inspire!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for.....JESSICA GOES SKYDIVING!!! AHHHHHH!!!!! First I will do a montage of pictures for your viewing pleasure documenting the adventure, then I'll share with you what was going through my head, and what it was like. AH! SOOOO freaking amazing!!!!

Signing our lives away!!!!!! First we had to pay $275, then sign 10 wavers saying that if we get hurt we won't sue, and if we die our family can't sue...yeah that's comforting!!!!! I love these people and I'm so glad that Jake, Tim, Tiff, Kim and I could go skydiving together! Not to mention Kim's wonderful Dad and uncle! :)

Me and Brian, my tandem guide...what did they call him...oh...yes..tandem master! haha. He was my tandem master....and he basically saved us from plummeting to our deaths by controlling all of the chute functions and making sure I did the right things at the right times.

Right before we hopped on right out of the plane...yeah that's right we jumped out of a perfectly fine plane...on purpose..and paid for it....crazy right?

And here is our 60 second free fall going 120mph. WOW! is all I can say!!! If you look closely my cheeks are like flailing around from the wind...and falling...haha but really did doesn't even feel like you are falling, it is just like you are sitting in front of a REALLY REALLY high powered fan! haha

Over the Salt Flats in Erda! AHHHHH!!! Look at us up there in the big blue! We are working with gravity to make fun!

The little SkyDiveUtah hut, and landing pad! YEAH!

Oh look! There's us coming in!!! YAY for land!!!!

And we made it! The first words out of my mouth were "oh my gosh, that was freaking awesome!!!!!!" haha yeah...basically twas!
Ok guys here's the skinny on skydiving....it is not at all what you imagine it to be. Yes I was scared out of my mind, and nervous, and freaking out, but it was all psychological! You basically just tell yourself that you're going to die, and asking why you ever thought this was a good idea. THEN you just do it...you close your eyes and jump out of the plane. It is the best stress releiver, and most exhilerating feeling in the world. You don't feel at all like you're falling. Just like you're above it all. In the air, one with nature...and oxygen.
I got to control the cute at times too! It was so cool!!!! We spun in circles, and before we deployed the chute we did backflips! WOW! It was just so cool. Once in a lifetime, daredevil experience checked off of my life long goal list. You only live once so might as well go on and live it!!!! OH guys!!! It was so amazing!!! I had the time of my life today, and I am so glad that Kim, Tim, and Jakithy were there to share it with me! I love you guys!!!!! :)

HUGS! Not Drugs!

Hugs are so amazing!!! One of the simplest pleasures in life. They can brighten your day, and make you smile from ear to ear, plus a hug from a special someone is like winning the biggest prize of the year! I think that you can tell a lot about a person from the kind of hugs they give. Think about it. Someone who gives a great hug must be very confident and know who they are. They not only enjoy a good hug, but enjoy sharing one. Then again when you go to hug someone and they are like a brick wall with arms it makes you wonder....

I have had many a hug in my day, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tight, special hugs! I don't mind hugs of any shape or form, but some hugs are just better than others, and it is easy to see why. I have been told that I give amazing hugs! That was probably the best compliment I've ever recieved! I love hugs, so naturally I want to give good ones, so people like my hugs!

One day Mary Ann came up to me and was like "Jessica, I have had 4 boys ask me why I can't hug like you!" I was like well what do you mean? And she said "Jessica, you give THE BEST hugs! Everyone loves your hugs, and apparently I don't hug very well. Teach me!" Haha that made my day. I thought that was rediculous, and amazing! I love giving and getting hugs! So to all of you huggers out there! This one goes out to you!!!!!!

Life is a run away train you can't wait to jump on!

This is a testament to assembly lines! I just love them! I don't know why. I always have, and probably always will. I just love the precision, and speed, and orginization they bring. Think about it, everyone has a job, and whatever the bigger task is it will be accomplished a lot quicker and more effectively with an assembly line. It breaks down the huge daunting task into smaller individual tasks that can more easily be accomplished. Oh it makes me all happy inside! :)

You're always trying to come in first, but it's someone else's game

I just love outdoor movies! I've been meaning to write a blog about this for quite some time, I just never got around to it! Just the whole feeling of being outside and enjoying a film with friends is so refreshing! I mean who doesn't love movies? Who doesn't love just sitting down for an hour or two and being entertained? It is so much better outside! The great out doors in my favorite season of all! SUMMER!

There is something so magical about film! It takes you on a magical journey to a far off land, or different state. It is so great to see a place you've actually been in a movie! Like going to Las Vegas! I'm always like ooo! I've been there!!! OOO! :) So fun!

Well that is about it for my little blerp about movies! I just love them!

You done done it and you bet I felt it

I recently heard somewhere (crap...where did I hear it??? I read it? um I don't remember) that we are an over commited society! It is so true! People will say oh yeah, maybe I'll come to your party, come to find out another friend has a wedding that same day, and so they say oh yeah maybe I'll show up to that! In the end they are half committing to 3 or 4 things on the same day! Then when it comes time to actually follow through something else seemingly more important comes up, so they break all previous committments. One of my biggest petpeeves is being let down. I hate the feeling of not only waiting for someone, but the feeling you have when no one shows up. No call, no text, nothing. Why does this happen? Why do people let things go so far? If you say you'll be somewhere, be there. If you say you'll do something do it. It is not hard, we learned it in primary. Keep your commitments, be honest, ect.

I hate trying to plan a party knowing that 75% of the people who you invite will not come. and out of the 25% of the people that committed to coming 1 will show up on time. if that. out of the remaining percent of people coming 8 will have to leave early to go to another party, 5 will never show up, and 2 will be trying to get there as fast as they can and show up an hour before it is over.

I really just don't understand what is so hard about saying you'll be somewhere, and being there...on time. I guess this is the world in which we live.

Life in the jungle

WOW! It has been entirely too long since I've written! Like a month!!! Well tis been a crazy ride!!! I recently discovered that I could borrow my roommates computer. So Luckily I've been able to keep up on email, and more importantly facebook! haha. It really sucks not having a computer. Most of all I miss my music! :(

Provo is very different. I've been back to SLC at least once a week since I left, it's horrible! haha but for any of you reading this in SLC I love you and I miss you!!! :) I have 5 roommates. It really isn't that bad living in a house with 6 people. You forget about it after the initial shock of the number wears off.

I really like my roommates! They are all so great! We have a lot of fun together, and we all like to do things, and be social, and go out and play games, so it's great! School is also sooo much fun! I did my first hair cut on a real person Friday! YAY!!! It went so good! Then this Friday I'm dying my friend's hair! :) I am just progressing right along. I am really grateful I decided to go to Dallas Roberts! It's a great school, and there are some fun girls! :)

I will tell you one thing that sucks about Provo, is game day! I live right across the street from the Stadium, so it is not too fun to try to go anywhere! But it has been so fun! I really am enjoying Provo....Sadly I am not feeling as social as I usually am...I don't know why...What's wrong with me????

For example, in my old ward I would just stay and talk forever with people, and here, I'm just like go to church, quick, go home. I really need to be more into social life activities!!!! UGH! I am so frustrated with myself! There is this boy I think is totally cute, and today I had the perfect opportunity to talk to him, and I just walked right past him and didn't even look at him! AHHH!!!

The whole point of moving was to make new friends, I mean I have, but I just feel like I am not doing a good job at it. I'm not putting forth enough effort, I'm just waiting for it to fall into my lap. I have news, that is not how it works! I need to be way more proactive and go after what I want!

NEW RESOLUTION: Be more involved!!!!

It's just so hard to be involved when I have school all day, and I finally just got a job, so that's nice, and much appreciated, but at the same time it gives me even less time to be active and meet people! OH what to do?
