We are who we are

I had an epic trip to Southern Cali! There were many good times! Life goals accomplished! If you are trying to go to Cali, the Southern Cali pass we got is seriously the best deal! We got into Sea World and Universal Studios for practically free! It was amazing!!! It was an action packed trip, full of adventure every day, but I loved it!! We did so much, had so much fun, and took SOOOO many pictures!!! Are you ready to experience the trip with me??? Here we go!
Alli and I getting ready to fly to Cali!!!

Won't miss the snow! YUCK!!! Welcome to the sunshine!!!
First adventure: Hollywood! So fun seeing stars of random celebrities! Faves were definitely Ryan Seacrest, and Johnny Depp! I couldn't find Reese Witherspoons, and that was sad! We also got a steal of a deal on a tour around hollywood homes! We paid $10 plus tip! Our driver was an Austrialian man who was great at his job! He told us so many useless star facts! It was fun, but got a little chilly! My favorite fact we learned was that in Beverly Hills each street is lined with a different tree, but all the streets have the same tree lining them. Does that make sense?
Temple Tuesday!!! First was Newport Beach where we did a session! SOOO cool! The creation room was awesome! Everyone in the temple was sooo incredibly nice to us!
Next was the LA Temple where we did sealings, I had a cold, so it was quite annoying to have a runny nose, but still an incredible experience. We did sealings where Alli's parents were sealed! We also met a couple from Utah! haha! Provo to be exact!
Wednesday we were off to experience Disneyland! It was so much fun! Everything I imagined! I took pictures with princesses, tried on mouse ears, ate churros, and rode amazing rides! At the end of the day after the parade, and the firework show, being as magical as Disney is, they created snow (foamy bubbles), and blew it all over us as they played I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas! SO AWESOME! That's the kind of snow I like! Warm, beautiful, doesn't stick to the ground snow! I could totally be a California girl! We also had amazing Mint Jallup drink that Justina recommended, as well as a Monte Cristo! YUMMY! Everything was decked out for Christmas so honestly I have no idea what it is supposed to be like, but I loved it! We rode Pirates of the Carribean, An old ship that went around a lake, played in Tarzan's Playhouse, Played around in Toon Town and toured Mickey and Minnie's houses, rode Haunted Mansion (which was awesome! All Nightmare Before Christmas), It's a Small world, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, Watched the 4D movie Captian EO with Michael Jackson, Did the Buzz Lightyear ride (which I won!), Did Star Tours, and I lost the map of Disneyland, so I think that's all we did, but I can't remember for sure! It was so magical, and fun though, everything is so themed I love it! It is so fun to just see your favorite Characters running around ready for a picture, because we all know I am ALWAYS ready for a picture!
Thanksgiving! Alli's brothers Nate, and Chris and sisters in law Kaylynne and Melanie and of course her adorable niece Brenda. We had a fabulous meal, and Kaylynne made us all cute place cards with our names on them! Then we played electronic monopoly with a fast dice...FYI, with a fast dice, you never want to go last, you are destined to loose, especially when you go to jail your first 3 times around the board and don't make it to go to collect your $200! haha! It was fun though! After dinner and fun had subsided we went to pick up Carrie from the airport!
Black Friday was California Adventure day! We woke up early, and went to the park with Chris and Melanie who showed us the Fast Pass ropes, and took us to all the great rides before the mad rushes started coming! After riding most of the rides we wanted to (Tower of Terror,  Toy Story Mania, Ariel's Under Sea Adventure, and soaring over California) we took a break and went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant  It was fabulous!
Carrie, Alli and I came back to the park to do some damage, and finish all we wanted to do! We rode the Cars ride, which was pretty neat, but definitely not worth the hour and a half wait in the single rider line! Then we saw the Aladdin show which Jeni and Matt Long highly recommended! It was awesome! We were in the row in front of the isle, and during the huge parade for Aladdin they walked right down the isle, so we had primo seats!!! Then we watched the World of Color. It was like the Billagio show on steroids! It had lights, lasers, songs, and disney images projected onto the water! It was fab! Then we rode the farris wheel, which was awesome, and our little bucket seats rolled back and forth as it went around! FUN! Then off to California Screamer roller coaster! That was really awesome! Then one last ride on Tower of Terror! As our final hurrah we rode King Triton's Carousel! That was a great way to end an exhausting fun day at California Adventure! I got the best night's sleep that night!
Off to San Diego for us three amigas! We got to the Temple right in time for the 4:00 session! It was the coolest experience! I've been wanting to do the prayer circle for a while now, and I was able to do it! We all were because the group was so small! haha! I loved it! Then off to the Celestial room! It was gorgeous! Two stories, and the top had a huge atrium with a great view of the spires and Angel Moroni, and broke off into the sealing rooms which were the prettiest I've ever seen! I love the San Diego Temple! Also I met my future husband! He was there in the session with us, super cute, and in the temple alone on a Saturday night, what could be better??? It was love at first sight...for me! haha! He talked to us briefly on the way out, and asked if we were visiting. Then we parted ways. Us girls headed to dinner at the Olive Garden! MMM! Alli and I had a gift card so it was practically free! Then we headed to the place where we were staying, an old mission president of Ohio who none of us knew! The Sharps. They were fabulous and super hospitable!
Sunday was quite the adventure! After the single's ward in which Carrie knew two and a half people we headed to the beach! We first went to a national park called Cabrillo, which was beautiful, however after an hour wandering around in rocks and tide pools we realized there was no actual beach, so we headed to the famous island Coronado! It was so FUN! We took a huge long skinny bridge over to the island! The beach was fabulous! For my first California beach experience, I realized it is a lot like Oregon...the only thing different is the temperature outside, which was a lot like Oregon's coasts on this particular day! haha! It was fun though, and there was a beautiful hotel which is in tons of movies that we saw too! So fun to just chill at the beach for a bit! Write my name in the sand, stand in the ocean...freeze in the ocean...you know!
Since my Mom learned we were going to San Diego she told me I had to go meet up with her college friend Becky Gimmel the only thing I knew about Becky is that she had a cute son who didn't live at home anymore (information I got from her yearly Christmas cars ;)) So the whole idea seemed really weird to me to call up a complete stranger and ask to meet her. Being the obedient daughter I am I did it, and It was a blast! Becky was super nice, and invited us to Sunday dinner, so the roomies and I trekked up to Vista and had a blast with the Gimmel's! Their son Matt, and nephew were also there for dinner, and we all just had a ton of fun, and laughed and ate! It was fun to hear about my mom from Becky's point of view! She loves my mom, and that was good to hear! :) The Gimmel's were probably the funnest people we met the whole trip!
Next adventure: Sea World! WOOT WOOT! The whale show was definitely my favorite! They are so cool, and do all kinds of flips, and tricks! SOOO Fun!!! We also saw the Polar Express in 4D, watched the Dolphin show which was slightly disappointing because humans stole the show, and did this cool acrobatic performance, and there really the dolphins were only at the beginning and end of the show.We watched the seal/sea lion show, and a pet show, which was just normal cats and dogs, with a few pigs, kangaroos, and ostriches thrown in there, it was not my fave. I am not a pet person. It was cute though. Then on to the rides,
The roller coaster was awesome and super fast! The we took a journey to the North Pole, which was pretty cool. Rode the sky tower which showed us the whole park, as well as a great view of San Diego, and then it was dark, chilly, and almost time for the park to close! Alli really wanted to ride Journey to Atlantis, but I didn't want to get wet! (Jessica's life lesson number 9: if it's cold and you can avoid it don't get wet!) So I let Alli ride it alone, and waited freezing for her. Then we picked up Carrie from her solo adventure at the San Diego Zoo, and went back to Whitter to sleep at her Brother's. Also a great night's rest!
Alli and I woke up super early to take Carrie to the airport so she could get back for work, and we finally made it to Universal Studios! We are so glad we went! After two failed attempts we almost bagged the whole thing, but it was fabulous!
We made the most of our day there, and did everything there is to do! After walking down the red carpet, and visiting London, we took the studio tour which was awesome, they showed us a lot of hollywood movie secrets, and the tour bus was practically a ride as we went into a King Kong 4D adventure! It was crazy scary dinosaurs  and king kong coming at us the whole time! We also learned that Universal Studios LOVES water! They got us wet on every ride and show we did! haha! Alli got a little star stuck, and it really got annoying to me. Every single person who had a microphone, or walked confidently she was convinced looked familiar, and was famous! I tried to tell her that if we didn't recognize them then obviously no one would be impressed. It's not impressive if you have to tell people that the guy driving our tour bus is that one guy who was an extra in that one movie, and he kind of resembles an news anchor...yeah, I was not into it! I am not into name dropping! Anyway, we saw water world, which was an amazing show complete with fire, water, jumps, and love haha! It had everything! We also learned about special effects, watched shrek 4D, and went through The House of Horrors, which was terrifying!!!! It was so scary! Scariest haunted house ever!!! We met the simpsons, and rode the simpson's ride, which was fun. Then the best ride ever was The mummy! The roller coaster was in the dark, so it freaked you out, and the picture they take of you is at the best spot! right when you start going super fast, so even the second time on the ride when I knew it was coming I was still screaming! SOOO FUN! Then we rode the transformers ride, which was not my favorite, but Alli loved it! It was scary! Transformers coming after you! Alli and I even bonked heads trying to dodge a 3D bomb coming at us! Overall the day was great! We loved it!!! I wasn't expecting that much from Universal!
Wednesday the day had finally come to get back to SLC, it was a super fun trip, however I don't know why I broke my own personal rule and Jessica's Life Lesson number 3 never vacationwith someone for longer then five days...a week max. It always ends in annoyance! By the end of the trip I was ready to take a LONG break from Alli! She was driving me crazy!!!! It was nice to FINALLY be home!
 Goodbye sunshine, hello...snow :(
After a nice stop by Randy's for breakfast we were finally en route! This was a fabulous trips with some great memories! We needed the amount of time we had to accomplish everything! I am so glad it finally happened! My yearly goals are finally accomplished! I am such a happy camper! I am pretty happy to be back to work, and church, and friends too! I should leave more often! Everyone was so happy to see me! haha! Vacations are awesome and fun, but I love routine, and am very happy to be back into the routine! Now if I'll just get over my annoyance with certain roommates my life will be grand once again! :)

If you want it let me hear you scream!

Self discovery time: I am overly empathetic! The definition of empathy is "experiencing the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another." Yup sounds like me! I love that talent when people are confiding in me, or venting to me, because I really do feel what they feel. I can relate very well to people. However, I am finding it to be a negative attribute as well because in dealing with emotional people, it makes me emotional! I don't like it! I'm not talking about crying emotions, I'm talking about moody, mean, aggravated emotions. I really need to be careful who I hang out with because people really do affect my mood! I like to surround myself with positive happy people because they make me positive and happy. When I am around people who are negative, it is like we are both trapped in a black hole, and it just makes me unhappy.

There was a woman at the salon last week that was having an anxiety/mental breakdown, and I literally felt anxiety just listening to her talk. She was freaking out so hard core that it really did affect me!

Nerdy TV show reference, but this reminds me of an episode of Charmed where Phoebe first gets her powers as an empath, and she can't handle it because everyone else's feelings are almost causing her to self combust! I totally feel like Phoebe! The way I need to deal with this talent is to surround myself with people who won't freak me out because of their crazy moody lifestyles.

What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man

I feel like I will never meet the man of my dreams! Does he even exist? I was definitely born in the wrong era! I just want a man who takes initiative, who doesn't need a mother or a girlfriend encouraging him every step of the way. I want someone who is self motivated, and who stands up for what he believes in. I want a man who is a gentleman, who takes the lead. Anyone who knows me knows I can definitely take the lead if I need to, but the thing is, I don't want to all the time, I don't want to get married an end up babysitting my husband the rest of my life. I want to go to work knowing that if he has a day off he will take the initiative to clean up around the house and get things done, without me leaving notes, or texting to remind him. I really don't think that is too much to ask... I want a partner.

This rant is brought to you by the election! Haha I saw this statistic and I was super proud of my gender, but then at the same time I was overcome with a fear that I will never find what I am looking for! Men of my generation are more interested in video games, and golf then getting things done and working hard to reach their dreams. Women have worked hard to get where we are in the world today, as women become more successful men become less successful, and less motivated. Why?

Why can't men and women both be successful an motivated? Does it really have to be one or the other? Honestly I'd I had to choose between my success or my future husband's I'd definitely choose his! I want to feel taken care of. I know I can take care of myself, and I will do my part, so I want him to do his part too!

Step it up men, I am not settling, so help me not end up a spinster!

Welcome to the jungle

Doing hair is such an emotional roller coaster! When it's good it's fantastic! When it's bad...yeah, not so fun, but over all I love my job!!!

Let's start at the very beginning

I hate the saying 'Flirt to convert" I do not believe in flirt to convert! It really bugs me when people say that! I don't want someone who isn't strong in the gospel, I want someone who is strong, and faithful, and keeps their covenants. I don't want someone who will just join the church for me, or just go to church for me. I want someone who is so strong that will lift me up. I am not saying I would never marry a convert, or if I was dating a nonmember, and he converted I wouldn't marry him by any means, but I would definitely have to gauge the specific situation, and I would be very cautious. Growing up with a less active father has definitely made me appreciate active priesthood holders who support their wives. I want a husband who is an equal with me. I don't want to carry him, or babysit him, I want us both to be on the same team, with the same goals working towards eternal life. Is that so hard to find, or so much to ask for? I wouldn't say I am opposed to dating someone "with a past," as long as they are actively engaged in their future, and show me the kind of person they are without me asking, or giving ultimatums. The long and short of it is, I am very picky, and I know what I want! haha! I am having trouble finding it though, so if you have any suggestions let me know!

Dancing in the dark

Today I did this guy's hair who was just fabulous! I decided that the man I marry will have sarcastic banter with me! :) I love it! It's so fun to just sit and carry on a sarcastic comments, and ironic statements! I just love it! It is so much more fun to get to know someone through witty banter then through actual serious conversation, and the "where are you from?" "what's your favorite color?" Type questions that seem to drone on and on! We talked about puns, and how we both appreciate a good pun, which stemmed from the fact that he said he had something on his back, so I checked it, and said "don't worry, I've got your back...bahaha! pun!" haha! I loved talking to him because we were both just silly and nonsensical! My favorite part of our conversation was when I randomly said if "I were to sign your yearbook right now I would write 'don't ever change!'" and he said "I would write in yours 'stay cool forever'". Then at the end of the cut and color I was said "okay, don't forget about me", and he said "how could I? We signed each other's yearbooks." CUTE! So cute! I feel like people who are witty are also very good listeners, and pretty observant, because you have to be to be witty. Anyway, that is my random bout about how I love friendly banter! :)

I'm just trying to change the color of your mood ring

The only thing more annoying than drivers who go under the speed limit...wait I don't think there is anything more annoying! Seriously people, if you are going to drive, drive, if not, pull over, or at least stay in the right lane! I hate oblivious drivers! Be aware of what is going on around you!

She turned her can't into cans and her dreams into plans

Dating is so rough! So we go to this amazing Stake Conference tonight where Elder Tate, and Elder Scott spoke to us. It was fantastic! Elder Scott's focus was of course dating! He even ended the meeting early so we could "mingle". So after his encouraging pep talk on dating, and not giving up, and how to keep going, and keep improving, I was revved up to go out there and find my eternal companion...or at least a nice boy! So I'm talking to this way nice boy, and things are going great, when suddenly he drops the bomb: "So Jess, question, is your roommate single?"

REALLLY?!?!!?!? REALLY?!?!?!??!?! Yeah! So sick of that! I already married off one beauty queen roommate, and still, it doesn't end?! UGH!!!!!

So yeah, how'd my mingle go? No where...it went to where...man, I tell you, this "decade decisions" (as Elder Tate referred to it)  is a rough! I'm trying Elder Scott, but it's hard when everyone just uses you as a conduit to meet their own eternal companion.

You don't have to live forever, you just have to live...and she did!

So...I have a ton to do in the ward right now...I am the Ward Communications Specialist, Temple co-chair, and Relief Society teacher. I love each of my callings, don't get me wrong, but I just don't understand how of the 200 people in our ward I have three callings. Why can't people just step up to the plate. I mean I understand that there are followers and leaders in the world, but it's just a little frustrating being a leader, and wanting to get things done, and being one of the only ones who actually gets things done. Prime example...I got three calls and texts last weekend about FHE, I am not on the FHE committee, and I have no idea what's going on with that. Why did I get these calls and texts? Because the people in charge didn't respond. So what ended up happening was I helped the co-chair from the Murray ward totally plan FHE. I mean, it was fun, and I had a good time, and I don't want to see FHE get canceled AGAIN, but it's just a little ridiculous how things work out sometimes. Anyway I just wish people weren't such slackers, and that when push comes to shove, and you receive a calling, that you actually DO the calling! That's all a good ward needs, is functioning committees with members who do their part.

In the name of love, one night in the name of love

Do you think that it's harder for independent people to have relationships? How many co-dependent people do you know who bounce around from relationship to relationship, while independent people hold out, or don't have as many opportunities. hum...just some quandaries!

Chasing the sun

I had the best day! First of all I had an amazing client. He walked in and I was worried. He looked so scroungy complete with a super long hideous blonde mustache. Then when I started on his hair i talked with him, and he was so nice! We had a lot to talk about, and as I was trimming his neck he said "how would you feel about shaving off this mustache?" I was like "Oh my gosh! I would be SOOO happy to do that! I wanted to mention that earlier, but I didn't want to offend you if you thought it was cool, so I didn't quite know what to do." haha! It was awesome! So I shaved it off, and after the haircut I took a look at him in the mirror and thought, WOW! He is hot! Who would have known under that mop of hair, and sick mustache! Dude was a stud! He is also a firefighter! Woot woot! but he was seriously so nice! While I was giving him a scalp massage he thanked me! haha! I've never had someone thank me before. He was like "wow, I almost fell asleep! Thank you so much!" haha! And then he tipped me $10! It was fantastic!!! Don't get excited he smelt like beer, and is definitely not LDS, but it was the best client of my day! Well along with my Rolly who is a super sweet old woman who has some form of altimerz. She loves to tell me about the dog named Monica who reminds her of Monica Lewinski at the Sandy Sunrise Assisted Living center. haha! She's cute!

In other news we had ward temple night tonight, and went to the Jordan River Temple. I had the most amazing experience! When I was getting confirmed one of the names was Melissa J. Hobbs. The brother doing confirmations paused, and a sweet spirit fell over the room. He then tapped me on the shoulder, and said "wow! Thank you so much for coming in today so I could experience that sweet spirit. I have goosebumps!" It was amazing! I felt the impression to call my Dad, so later I called Dad and told him about it, and asked if we had family in Missouri where she was from, and he said we do! I can't believe it. I am probably related to Melissa! What a wonderful experience to have. The Lord is so aware of each of us, and I am so grateful for the tender mercies he extends to each of us daily. I am so grateful to be worthy to go into the temple so that I could have that amazing experience! I feel so blessed, and so loved.

SUPER BIRTHDAY! 24 baby!!

WOW! Where do I even begin!? I had THE BEST birthday EVER! So I guess I will begin at the beginning! So I went into work and Ciara (who seriously is amazing! We just became friends like a week ago, and she is such a sweet girl!) had a present waiting for me! She got me SUPER cute jewelry from Forever 21! A little J necklace, earrings, hair clips, and a ring! Then I am sitting at the front just chilling talking to Ciara, and a delivery man walks in with flowers, and he says "for Jessica Hobbs," and Ciara and I both squeal! So exciting! They were from Kim Conger! SOOOO Sweet! I was so happy! Then Lauren came in with a balloon that says "Happy Birthday Princess" So cute!! All day long I was getting happy birthday texts and facebook posts! I seriously felt like the most loved girl in the world! Not that I counted, but 75 friends wished me happy birthday on facebook, and like 20 text or called me! I have THE BEST friends in the world!

So while I'm at work Ciara and I were just facebook stalking because she doesn't have facebook and likes to live vicariously through me, so I was showing her some of my friends. Then Lauren's brings her client up to be rung up, and she kept trying to involve me in the conversation, and was like this is Jessica, it's her birthday today! and I got her that balloon, oh Jessica, this is Bill, he is going scuba diving! Random stuff, and I didn't really think much of it, and then she was like oh doesn't he have great hair? And he did have great hair. Then he left.

When Bill left Lauren was like "he wanted to ask you out SOOOOO bad!" I was like "WHAT?!?! Seriously??" So Ciara Said, "I am going to text him your number right now!" So she did, and later that night while I was at dinner with 17 of my closest friends Bill text me and asked me out. So fast forward to today. We went to the Zoo! It was way fun! We had great conversation, he was seriously the most chivalrous, and sweet. He is a really good guy! He is 22 though, I don't think he's LDS, and he lives in Colorado. BUT it was a way fun date, and after we were done at the zoo, (which we were there for like almost 5 hours! We had such a great time!) he was like "I have something for you in my car." I was like "You do?!?!" and so we went to his car and he pulled out this origami-ish flower thing. It is seriously so cool! I have no idea how to describe it, but it's made of post-it-notes! I'll post a picture, but I love it! It was soooo sweet of him to do that! AND another sweet thing. I told him I love giraffes, so whilst we were walking around we were going to see the tigers again, and we were passing the giraffes, and he was like do you want to stop at the giraffes again? We are right here? So we did, for like a half hour! It was so sweet of him to remember, and do that. :) SO nice!

So back to my actual birthday, I went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, and it was so fun! PLUS I got Mango Key Lime Cheesecake, which I have been waiting for since last year! PERFECT! It was so fun, I just felt so happy, and loved the entire night! I seriously love my birthday! I love my friends, and I love that I get to have another party on Friday! Tangled themed! :) We are doing s'more, a pinata, lanterns, and the movie! :) I LOVE IT! Then some friends came back to my place, and we just talked and hung out. :) SO FUN! I love it!

THEN today after my date I hung out with Cris and Aaron, and Cris totally bough me a larger then life bear! SO SWEET! As we were walking out the checker at Costco totally thought we were dating, and was like "awe! Did you surprise her with that? That is so cute! I have been married 20 years and my husband has never surprised me like that!" haha!!! So funny! We named the bear Bill the bear with great hair. haha. What a fun two days!

SO let's recap...best birthday ever, flowers, balloon, asked on a date, ginormous bear, best friends ever! YUP! chalk it up as a successful birthday!!!! :)

It's hard to dance with the devil on your back

What ever happened to good, honest, dependable men and women of their word? now a day we don't have to be dependable, or people of our word because if we change our minds it's as easy as shooting a text. Even breaking up with people is made easier through texting! If we make plans, then something else (or something better some would say) comes up no harm, no foul, we can just get on our cell phones and call or text our regrets, or reschedule. This way we are being dependable, without actually committing. That is the famous "C-word" of our generation. Commitment. That's what it all boils down to ladies and gents! We don't actually stand people up anymore if we aren't where we say we'll be because either they call us and ask, or we call them saying we got lost, or we are late, or we just plum forgot!

Really though I want good ole fashioned dependability! If you tell me you are going to be somewhere be there! I recently had a little flash back experience that actually inspired this blog topic. My phone had died, and my roommate Alli and I had said that we were going to meet back at our apartment, drop my car off, and then head to a party together in her car. Well I get home, Alli is no where to be seen. Remember my phone is dead, so there is no way for either of us to get in contact with one another. So I am sitting, waiting...luckily it's a nice night, so it's not too bad outside, but I am so annoyed! We planned to meet back at the house, and here I am sitting outside for 20min waiting for her!

I have no idea where she is, and while I speculate for a second that she could have gotten a flat tire on the side of the road and I have no idea, honestly I don't know where she could be! A good half hour later, after I'd gone inside, changed a lightbulb, checked the mail, and charged my phone Alli comes cruising down the parking lot. REALLY?!?! Yeah it was quite annoying, but it just taught me a very valuable lesson. When you tell someone you are going to be somewhere do it! What if we didn't have cell phones. What then? What would you do? Be dependable NOW!

Love is just a lyric in a children's rhyme

This just in...needy guys are NOT attractive! I want a man who can stand on his own two feet, and make decisions on his own! Dealing with needy men has made me realize that I need to be less needy myself! If this is what a guy sees when he sees me I don't want it! It's not fun, attractive, and doesn't make for good conversations! haha! So! New resolution: be less needy!

You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness

Everyone has trials, when I talk to people about what's going on in their lives, it usually makes what I am going trough seem so much easier. God only gives us what we can handle. When we are saying how great our life is going satan and his angels are standing in the wings to drown us in misery. We need to always turn to the Lord.

This life is all about having trials, and growing from them. If we didn't have bumps along the road we would never end up where we want to be in the end! If we can't do good, and learn to get along with people, resolve issues, and deal with disappointment there is no way we would be fit to live with our Father in Heaven. No one likes trials, but with the Lord's help we can learn from them, grown, and come closer to Him. :)

The time we have is time well borrowed, stay out all night, we'll get tomorrow

Lately I have been quite addicted to the app Draw Something! Wow! Who knew that it could be so much fun?!?!

Also I am quite into instagram! Sad as it may sound, facebook is loosing it's luster! haha! All of the crap on facebook makes me more prone to waste my time Drawing Something! I should be doing something actually productive, but oh well.

Anyone driving faster then you is a maniac, and anyone driving slower then you is an idiot!

Alert! This just in! When the speed limit is 65 that means go 65!!!! PLEASE!!!! Not 55, not 60...65! AT LEAST! Nothing is more annoying then a car going a leisurely pace in the fast lane! I really do respect that you are not a maniac driver going 80, but I would really appreciate you going the speed limit! ESPECIALLY if you are going to pull out in front of me!

Also I have come to realize that people who brake excessively are like the boy that cried wolf. When they brake for an actual reason you don't believe you need to slow down. HOW ANNOYING! If the light is red, or someone pulls out in front of you that is what your brakes are for. People who hit them over and over and over, just make me want to pass them. SERIOUSLY Utah, learn how to drive! Thanks that is all!

Last night I had a pleasant nightmare!

Generally boys of my generation think that if they do something chivalrous for a woman, said woman will think they like them. Not so boys! Not so! Sure if I like a guy, and he holds my door open it will make me like him even more, but the beauty of chivalry is that it is nonsexual! Chivalry is defined as "ideal qualifications for a knight including courtesy, generosity, and valor." (Okay, and I didn't know what valor meant, so that is: boldness or determination facing danger") Who doesn't want a man with all of those qualities! Where do I sign up?!

At the gym the other day I was about to have one of those awkward scenes at a glass door where you are going and someone else is coming, and you can see each other, and you have to decide who goes first and who opens the door. A mist this internal conflict a chivalrous older gentleman saw saw what was about to happen, and ran to open the door for me. It totally made my day!

I have come to the conclusion that chivalry is not dead! At least in men over 50! haha! Hey a girl's gotta take what she can get right? ;)

So random, but I also want a guy who I can call my beloved! Doesn't that sound so lovely and endearing?

Bad news never has good timing

I have been thinking a lot lately about commitment, and young love. Basically my conclusion is that young love will never work without commitment! Honestly no love will ever work without commitment. I was reading Nicholas Sparks autobiography, and he talks about how if two people aren't committed to each other, and to bettering the relationship it's basically a waste of time and neither partner will ever feel secure in the relationship. I mean how could one feel secure if he or she thought that they could just get dropped like it's hot if they got into an argument, and if things "just weren't working" Things aren't going to be all rainbows and roses, but I want to feel secure enough in a relationship that if we have an argument I know that my partner will want to work through whatever the issue may be, and not try to run away, or find a way out of the awkward situation.

A relationship as my friend Minda puts it is not 50/50 it's 100% and 100%. If you are only putting 50% in the relationship it will never work. You need to be giving it your all. If you are not, I don't want you because I will definitely be putting in 100%! Now comes the tricky part...how do you find a guy that will put in 100%. Even if you do find said guy, how do you know when the going gets tough he won't just throw in the towel, and go for a younger skinnier, less emotional little tramp?

Oh gosh! Life is an endless string of what-if's. I guess that's where faith comes in. Just let whatever is meant to happen happen...I just wish I could be more patient while whatever is supposed to happen will just happen already!

So the young love part of my thoughts...well I was thinking that the younger you get married the more you still have to grow up, and change. That would be scary to wake up and realize that you married someone, and now that they have grown up, and decided who they want to be they are completely different! SCARY! I know just in friendships people that I was friends with in high school have done 180's! Even people I met in college are still changing and trying to find out who they are.

I guess to wrap all of these random thoughts up faith is what I need. Faith and hope that God knows what's best for me, and he really does have a plan for my life, and I won't be alone forever, and I will find someone willing to give me the 100% I will give them. :) It won't be perfect, but it will be perfect for me!

The Lady is not only beautiful but fierce and is a terrible force to be rekonded

Well time to catch up on my blog I suppose! What is a day off, and procrastinating going to the gym for eh? Uh oh! I definitely should have gotten ready for the gym before I opened the curtains! It is SNOWING! Shoot! now I really don't want to go to the gym! :(

Anyway I have been meaning to write about my Valentine's Day this year! I love this holiday! Most single girls feel the holiday is overly commercialized (which it is...granted.), but I LOVE IT! What is not to love about a holiday that focuses on romance, roses, red, pink, and most importantly...CHOCOLATE! Being single on Valentine's day can go one of two ways, wallow in self pity, and cry yourself to sleep because you didn't get any chocolate or flowers, OR buy yourself some chocolate, roses, and treat yourself to a chick flick with the girls!

I honestly want to be in love so badly! I want to know what it's like to have one person love you so deeply that nothing else matters. I don't foresee that happening anytime soon though because of recent conversations I've had with the boys I associate with. Most of the conversations go like this:

"What do you look for in a girl?"-Me
"Smokin' hot!"-Boy
"Well yeah, don't we all, but what else?"-Me
"Well if she's smokin' hot what else matters?"-Boy

Hum...well there you have it. An intelligent answer by an intelligent gender I suppose. So I guess in order to meet the man of my dreams I should stop working on my intellect, and personality, and start focusing on my hot bod! Hit the gym 7 hours a day, get some fake eyelashes, blonde extensions (because let's face it which boy can't resist a blonde?), and perhaps a little plastic surgery? Well it all makes sense! That's why me, and all my amazing girl friends are still single! Well now that we have this key to catching a man I'm sure by next Valentine's Day the story will be different! YES!

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay seriously if that is all a guy is looking for then I don't want him. I know that the perfect guy for me exists, and if he just likes me for my looks then he is definitely out! I totally understand that you have to be attracted to a significant other. I can't tell you how many guys who frankly I am not attracted to seem to gravitate towards me, but I just can't do it. I don't blame a man who isn't attracted to me, but my question is where do I find the man that is attracted to me, AND likes me for more then my looks? Anyone know?

I am just so sick of hearing that all men care about is a hot bod! No wonder our generation has more single and divorced people than any other! We are SO picky! We seek perfection, but don't embody perfection! How hypocritical! Anyway, it will happen for me when it will happen, but I am not lowering my standards to get a man! That being said I am now going to step off of my soapbox, and tell about my fantastic Valentine's Day!

I had the best day ever because I decided to focus on other people who might feel overlooked on this lovey holiday! I made little Valentine's day packets for my roomies, visiting teachees, and neighbors. I hope it made them each feel as special as they are! I love them all! :) One of the funnest things was I closed by myself at work the night before Valentine's Day, and had Valentine's off, so I decided to heart attack the back room at work so when my co-workers came to work they would be thrilled! I cut out little hearts, and wrote cute sayings the whole evening, and it worked! I love making people feel special! My manager who I thought would think the whole thing is ridiculous loved it! I could tell that it made them all feel so special! As a thank you my co-worker bough me chocolate covered strawberries! YAY!

After making sure everyone else felt special on this lovely holiday I also did some things for myself! I went to the gym, where I was delighted with the presence of a very good looking man to look at during my work out, then I went to the Blue Lemon (the best ever!), got lunch and came home and watched The Bachelor while eating reeses eggs and chocolate covered cinnamon bears (a dynamite combo!) Then later I went to see The Vow with the girls! It was a fabulous day!

I have always been secretly interested in astrology, numerology ect. I do not live my life by the results, but I have definitely found some truths in all of them! It is so interesting! My personality is very divided, and I am a Gemini, which totally explains it! I also am two completely opposite colors according to The Color Code, which comes back to being a divided personality, and a Gemini.

I am reading about Gemini traits, so I will share! Gemini's are know for intelligence, awakening, cleverness, and education. Many Gemini's show extrovert tendencies, and are highly adaptable, versatile, has great communication skills, intellectual, and youthful in appearance. They are highly sociable, and posses a certain quality that allows them to communicate verbally as if it were effortless. Gemini's are also eloquent conversationalists which seem to draw others to them. Gemini's are very responsive to change, and constantly seek new opportunities to take on new adventures. Gemini's are able to harness their love for change and become excellent multitasking juggling several projects at once.

High intelligence is another positive trait of a Gemini, their minds tend to work in a very logical, and rational manner allowing them to gain knowledge very rapidly. Gemini's typically learn as much as they can in as short of amount of time as possible. Gemini's are positive, and outgoing. A Gemini is the kind of person that likes to see and learn about everything the world has to offer!

Anyway very interesting, and very true! There were other traits that weren't so accurate, so I didn't bother with them! haha!

The people were buzzing like a bug on a light!

Little random tid-bit about me. I am not very thorough, but I am definitely efficient! For example I recently had a crash course on learning to crochet, but after mastering the technique I basically just wanted to finish, and it ended up getting smaller and smaller instead of staying the same size! Woops! This is exactly why I could never have a talent that didn't finish within a few hours such as crocheting, knitting, painting, drawing, ect. I just want to get in there and get it done, and it would honestly keep me awake all night because I would not go to bed till I finished!

Don't push your luck, don't get more then your hopes up

So random thoughts I feel like when I was younger I didn't realize that people were very different, and have different personality traits. I just thought all people working behind counters at stores were professional, and all customers were just normal professional adults. I have sadly learned throughout my almost 24 years of life that people are all very different. I know we have been taught since first grade that people are different, but I am not talking differences like I have green eyes, and brown hair while you have blue eyes and black hair, I am talking personality differences.

Annoying life altering differences! People are lazy, unobservant, rude, inconsiderate, ditsy, slow ect. Some people just don't think things through, and are total morons! They don't warn you about these frustrating people in first grade!

After reading books like the Five Love Languages, and The Color Code where personality types, and needs of people are discussed I feel like I have become even more aware of the wide differences in personalities. I can totally peg someone's personality pretty well just by talking to them once. People are just really frustrating sometimes.

I feel like I am pretty level headed, conciseness, and observant, thus when people are not any of those things it really irks me! I was venting to a friend about how I always have my Cosmoprof or Costco card ready before I even go into the store where I need it. Sure everyone misplaces things sometimes, but some people I deal with NEVER have ANYTHING! Even worse then taking 20 minutes rifling through your purse to find it is not even having it at all, then acting like a mega B and so inconvenienced that now I have to look up your information. BE PREPARED PEOPLE OF THE WORLD!

My history teacher always said "Failure to plan on your part does not constitute and emergency on mine." When he would say that I would just think to myself, yeah yeah, whatever, but now that I am in the real world and dealing with totally irresponsible people I totally know what he meant, and why he ingrained that into our little high school brains! it is a very vital key to being a responsible contributing member of society!

My biggest petpeeve is irresponsible people! I have no idea why I am so conscientious, or how I even came to be like this, but I feel like I am alone in my plight! I feel like the standards I set for myself and society's standards are very different! It is super frustrating! Is it my age group? Will things get better with age? What do I have to look forward to? Older morons, or people who go throughout life with actual brains and respect in their heads?
