Snow snow go away!

Things I hate:
When your hair gets caught in your necklace!
When you straighten your hair then it snows!

You're taking me apart like bad glue on a get well card

So! Here's the thing! If I am cleaning then I AM CLEANING. If you feel bad that I am doing it (probably because it's your mess), then you should have already done it.
I don't necessarily enjoy washing dishes, however I do enjoy a clean home, and clean sink!
One thing I will never get is people who can be at home for days, and never once unload the dish washer, and make more dirty dishes...if you have time to make dinner, and make a mess, then you can find time to clean up your mess!

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.

So like last year Alli and I were driving around using her GPS to get somewhere, when we realized that we had NO idea what people did before GPS. After like a day of thinking about it and concluding that they just must have called people a lot, and stopped at gas stations, we realized hello! There were totally maps!
I don't know if it's my feminine genes, or just lack of trying but I cannot read a map to save my life! I am so grateful for those little GPS's! AND for mapquest! Oh man I love having good directions! I also feel like it is a lot easier to meet up with people now a day! If your plans change mid travel you just text them and say oh we're going here instead. You text your friends the address of the place, and they plug it into the GPS of their phone, and bada boom! You're meeting up together! :) I just love technology! :)

If Waldo and Camen San Diego had a kid that child would be the greatest hide and seek player EVER

Common question: Favorite superhero?
The answer is easy. Batman is definitely the best! He is the definition of hero! He is just an ordinary man who made himself amazing! Unlike Superman who can fly, or Spiderman who was bit by a spider Batman is himself, and he is obviously amazing! He is truly inspirational, he shows us that we don't need to have special gifts to make the world a better place!

Expecto Patronus!

So maybe I got suckered into the Facebook fad of patronuses, but it's pretty sweet you've got to admit!

These wounds are self-inflicted

We have all been taught about the Mayan Calendar our whole lives, and now as 2012 approaches people are getting really nervous. I don't know exactly how I feel about the whole thing, but this cartoon made me giggle!

Big hearts are for breaking

HUGS!!!!!
I love HUGS!
I was talking to my friend Erik today, and he said some very nice things! First he complimented my skill of hugging and said I am the number one best hugger. :) He also said that I deserve a boy who will just love me and hug me! I agree!!
My favorite thing that he said was about how I am using some sort of reverse psychology to become the most loved person in the ward through my hugs! haha! It was a funny conversation, but it got me thinking. Everyone needs a hug, and I am so glad that I have hugs to offer! I feel like it breaks down personal barriers and allows people to become connected in a way that nothing else can do.
I am so grateful for the blessing in my life of something as simple as hugs! I love it when people tell me I give the best hugs! I really do love hugging and I guess when you love something you become great at it! :)
YAY for hugs!

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet."-Juliet

You hear your name, and your first impulse is to turn around. So you do. They aren't talking to you. You turn back around pretending that it didn't happen, when suddenly it happens again! You turn back with a smile..Once again, same name, wrong girl. Getting a little frustrated with the situation you vow not to turn around next time even if your curiosity gets the best of you. You have got to end these embarrassing moments! So five minutes later when you hear your name once again, with every fiber of your being you try to distract yourself, and this time the voice repeats your name louder. This angers you. Hello, you are trying SO hard to ignore this mistaken name, and your curiosity is popping out in every direction, what if they really are talking to you? Alas, you were mistaken twice before already, so you keep walking. Two minutes later your friend taps you on the shoulder looking quite annoyed, and insists she had been calling your name for the past two minutes...WOOOPS!
Jessica Simpson
Jessica Alba
Jessica Biel
Jessica Rabbit...I am completely surrounded!!!!
I just have to laugh when I'm in a group and for example there are two Kim's. One of the Kim's says "This is so confusing having two Kims!" To that I counter, um...really? Welcome to my life!
Just for a little break down there are:
8 Jessica's in my ward.
3 Jessica's in my apartment complex
I work with a Jessica at my salon and as the cherry on top I live with a Jessica...share a room in fact! So if you think your life is confusing when one time there is one other person with your same name, just think for one second about how it is to be a Jessica. :)
Thus the burden of a girl born in the 80's!

You don't deserve my tears, I guess that's why they ain't there!

I am so grateful for the influence of the spirit in my life. I had a fantastic experience a few weeks ago! First of all I never take my wallet to the gym, but this particular day I decided to stop by the store after the gym, so I did have my wallet. After the gym I debated over and over, and tried to talk myself out of going to the store, and I decided to just go anyway even though I didn't want to. It just so happened that the isles of the parking lot were the certain diagonal that you had to go a certain way, and as fate (or the holy ghost) would have It I went down a particular isle and took the first spot I saw parking next to a woman standing outside her car. I asked if she needed help and she said she was waiting for the person parked in front of her to come out. I asked why, and she said so that they could give her a jump, to which I responded "uh, I could give you a jump. I am right here, and my car is next to yours..."

I practically had to convince her to let me help her other then waiting for who knows how long in the hot sun for whoever the owner of the car in front of her was. I slid my car over, and just like that she was on her way. She thanked me and said that she really was grateful. She didn't know what to do because her husband was out of town. :)

The Lord works in mysterious ways! He had been preparing me all day to help this woman! :) I Love little experiences like this!

I'd also just like to say that when looking for a photo for this blog all of the pictures that came up were of girls jumping their cars! haha! Girl power!

No one can diminish you, but yourself

It is so scary how just one little letter can effect your entire day, and quite possibly your entire life!

I got a voicemail a few days ago informing me that there was a penny lawsuit being filed against me and that there were some sealed documents that I needed to receive. Panicked and trying to remember any time in my entire life that I had ever broken the law I had my co-worker listen to the message. She instantly said CALL THEM BACK! We were both terrified! I called back, and while upon later reflection I think it might have been a huge scam altogether, the man on the phone said "Is this Jessica J. Hobbs?" Instantly relief washed over me! "Actually this is Jessica M. Hobbs!" WHEW! One letter later he realized that he had the wrong Jessica Hobbs. How terrifying!

I hate that feeling! I never want to feel it again!!!

Enjoy the go

I have come to a realization, and possibly a new life motto! "You've just got to spring for the good stuff!

Okay let's break it down. You spend $2.00 on a roll of toilet paper, and it lasts you a day and half because it is to thin you have to use half the roll each use. On the other hand you spend $5 on a roll of something like Charmin, and it lasts a whole week or longer! Seriously people what is the better deal? You really just have to spring for the good stuff!!!

Shampoo, you buy suave, and your hair feels like crap. You are only spending $3.00 a bottle though. Then one day you are introduced to salon quality shampoo, that costs $12.00 a bottle, and though the price is daunting your hair suddenly feels like silk, and you realize what you have been missing all these years! SERIOUSLY! Spring for the good stuff!

Another hair related thing. Hair dye. Oh man if you won't give up your three dollar grocery store brand shampoo, PLEASE....PLEASE do not buy grocery store hair dye!!!! It RUINS your hair! When you want to change the color it is nearly impossible, and takes 50 times longer! Do yourself and your hairdresser a favor, SPRING FOR THE GOOD STUFF!

Pens. We have all been there, you find a steal of a deal on some cheap pens, and they quit working...it's worth it to spring from the good stuff!

I could go on and on! I know there are some things that it's perfectly fine to buy the off brand, or the cheaper version, but please learn to use your best judgement! Is it really worth it? Would you rather buy three to make up for one good one?

Proud of me, that's the only way I want you to be!

Why are people in the world so flaky? I started a dinner club as a fun little thing to do with friends, and it has become such a headache. The idea is simple. I text everyone on Sunday and let them know that the upcoming Thursday is dinner club what the theme is, and tell them to text me back if they are coming for an assignment. Already it's pretty simple all you have to do is respond a simple yes or no, and I do the rest! Assigning the food, making ride arrangements if needed, and even reminder texts Thursday afternoon (because people can for some reason never remember when they have committed to something they volunteer to do.). It's pretty simple!

Somehow still people don't respond, either ever, or until about two hours before dinner club starts, by then I have everything figured out and while my motto is "the more the merrier" it's a little inconvenient for something a dinner club where people are counting on other people to have the vital parts of a meal.

Of those who do respond even still two or three inevitably text two hours before and say they can't come. Okay...uh great, no problem we'll either just go without a salad, or I'll have to make it now. Do you see now why it's super annoying and totally rude to not RSVP and stick with it?

I completely understand that things happen, and that's fine, when someone invites you to a party fine, don't commit to show up. Come and go as you please, but this is totally different! People of the world make up your minds and BE RESPONSIBLE!!! Take charge of your life, make a commitment and stick to it!

Thank you. I now step down from my soapbox.

She kept driving along till the moon and the sun were floating side by side

I am currently watching The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and this movie ALWAYS makes me want to go to Greece. I have started down a path of thoughts of travel, and I must blog! Here it goes my list of 20 places I've got to see before I die:

1. Greece-Appropriately I think this one deserves to be first especially because it is the part in the movie when Constance and Lena jump in the ocean together! SO magical! I love the contrast of the blues and whites in Greece. I want to experience the housing along the mountains, and
the beauty of the culture!

2. London-Something about seeing Big Ben, and the Queen of England just lures me in. There is something so sophisticated about the lifestyle in England, and I have just got to be a part of itRed telephone booths, castles, bridges, double decker busses city life...I LOVE IT!
3. Australia-Where the Kangaroos run around like deer, the accents are so amazing, and the beaches so beautiful! Something about the country just entices me! It grabs at my adventurous side, and lures me in!

taly! Something about the city on the ocean just makes me feel excited! Then you have the leaning tower of Pisa, and gondolas, and the excitement of all things Italian! Plus the count
ry is shaped like a boot! Come on people!
8. New York City-There are songs about it, movies about it, everything American stems from NYC! I want to see it so badly!!! Take a pony ride in central park, time square,

see the statue of liberty, walk down Madison Ave, see Tiffany's, buy an I love NYC tee, and possibly a boot leg purse. I want to experience the traffic jams, crazy cab drivers, and fast paced lifestyle that New Yorkers love.

I want to see a giant sea turtle, and play in the warm ocean! I want a lei made from hibiscus, I want to be somewhere tropical and amazing! Just looking at pictures of Hawaii made me weak in the knees, and loose my breath!
10. San Francisco-I was sooo close to going this summer and I am kind of upset about it! I want so badly to see the Golden Gate Bridge, see the houses built up instead of out, see Alcatraz, ride a trolley, see the ocean from the bay. I want to see all that San Fran has to offer!
11.Rome Italy-So I know I already put Venice on this list, but I think Rome deserves it's own spot. I have been obsessed with Roman culture since about sixth grade! Something about the ancientness, and the culture of the Romans has always spoken to my soul! I would love to se

e where it all began. Ancient Roman ruins, and the Colosseum, oh man! I can't wait!!
12. Providence Rhode Island- I am not going to lie a lot of my travel aspirations come from television. There was a show my Mom and I used to watch called Providence, and ever sin

ever wanted to go! it is just SOOO beautiful! Also a wonderful place to go in the fall!
13. Fiji-Okay a bungalow overlooking the ocean, snorkeling in the crystal clear ocean, what doesn't sound appealing about that?!? I can just imagine going on a zip line, and all kinds of exotic activities in Fiji! It sounds so magical, and WARM! A tropical paradise!
14. Egypt-Pyramids, tombs, ancient pharaohs, man it all just sounds so exciting!! So sandy, and deserty, and exciting!!! All of the ancientness, and acupuncture, just sounds so wonderful! And Camels! haha!
15. Mount Rushmore- I definitely have to do two pictures for this one because I saw the

funniest picture EVER of Mt. R! haha! All kidding aside Richy Rich is one of the many inspirations for this aspiration! Plus the rich American patriotism of it all! :)

BAHAHAHA!!! This picture just cracks me up!!!

16. The Caribbean -Classic paradise! I want to just relax, and feel the warm sand between my toes, and love every minute of it! There is so much beauty to be seen, and I want to see it all dang it! :)
17. The Grand Canyon-This is such a staple of the western United States, and I am so sad to say I haven't actually been there. I have driven past it, and seen it from the road, but I want to officially see it! I want to see the majesty everyone raves about!
18. Four Corners-Kim Conger and I have been dreaming and planning of this day for years! We really just need to hop in a car and go see it! It's the beauty of being in four places at once! I want to feel that rush of a feeling! Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico baby!!! I have never even been to New Mexico so that is exciting! Since seeing A Walk to Remember when she wanted to be in two places at once, I though why not try to be in four?!?!
19. Mexico-I am not really sure what part, but maybe some Aztec inspired portion! That would be fun! I need to research this endeavor more, but also what about some touristy place like Cabo!??! I dono, somewhere fun in Mexico! yes, definitely some place fun! OOOH!!!! OOOOO! St. Lucas! That's definitely where I want to go! Thank you Bachelorette!
20. Washington D.C.-There is so much in this wonderful city to see!!! The White House, The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, and probably a ton more I don't even know about! This city just seems so culturally enticing to me!! I would LOVE to go there!!!

Oh man! This blog was a lot more work than I had originally anticipated! I hope it's worth all of the effort. I even dug up my bucket list to make sure I did not forget any ambitions for future travel, and watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants TWICE! haha!

You're a beautiful creation, I like to think that I am too!

There is something I have learned. There will will always be someone prettier than you, but you can't lock up all of the people who are prettier than you, you've just got to live your life and wait for the guy who doesn't over look you for you bff. I like to hope he is out there!!!
It totally sucks to hear, and to think about, and I hate when I meet a totally amazing cute boy and he goes for one of my roommates! UGH!!!! Or even worse a cute friend! It's like yeah I have cute friends, but I am cute too! AND I am a winner!!!! :)

It's best when the ordinary is extraordinary!

Time to step up on my commercialism soap box. I cannot believe that they started putting out fall stuff in the beginning of August! DISGUSTING!!!! We hardly had a summer as it was, and I went into Ross and saw fall boots, and backpacks out! I almost screamed! It is way too hot to be thinking about boots! I mean I do love fall fashions as much as the next person, but everything in it's season! I mean I know you have to be on top of the season, but COME ON people!!!
On the other hand I did happen to buy a ton of new Halloween decorations at the Quilted bear this weekend. I do love Halloween, I mean I could have waited till at least September, but man these silly retail people are just always looking for the next big money making holiday!

Please people of the world, can we just enjoy the season we are in!!! Stop and smell the roses maybe?

I'm no beauty queen, I'm just beautiful me

Great lyrics by Selena Gomez
Who Says
I wouldn't wanna be anybody else.
You made me insecure
Told me I wasn’t good enough
But who are you to judge
When you’re a diamond in the rough
I’m sure you got some things
You’d like to change about yourself
But when it comes to me
I wouldn’t want to be anybody else

Na na na
Na na na

I’m no beauty queen
I’m just beautiful me

Na na na
Na na na

You’ve got every right
To a beautiful life
C'mon

[Chorus]
Who says
Who says you’re not perfect
Who says you’re not worth it
Who says you’re the only one that’s hurting
Trust me
That’s the price of beauty
Who says you’re not pretty
Who says you’re not beautiful
Who says

It’s such a funny thing
How nothing’s funny when it’s you
You tell ‘em what you mean
But they keep whiting out the truth
It’s like a work of art
That never gets to see the light
Keep you beneath the stars
Won’t let you touch the sky

Na na na
Na na na

I’m no beauty queen
I’m just beautiful me

Na na na
Na na na

You’ve got every right
To a beautiful life
C'mon

[Chorus]
Who says
Who says you’re not perfect
Who says you’re not worth it
Who says you’re the only one that’s hurting
Trust me
That’s the price of beauty
Who says you’re not pretty
Who says you’re not beautiful

[Bridge]
Who says
Who says you’re not start potential
Who says you’re not presidential
Who says you can’t be in movies
Listen to me, listen to me
Who says you don’t pass the test
Who says you can’t be the best
Who said, who said
Won’t you tell me who said that
Yeah, oh

[Chorus]
Who says
Who says you’re not perfect
Who says you’re not worth it
Who says you’re the only one that’s hurting
Trust me
That’s the price of beauty
Who says you’re not pretty
Who says you’re not beautiful

There is never any time when the work is done. You have to laugh during the work!

I have a few GREAT quotes that I love! Ready...Set...

"Costco is big, not fancy, but I dare you not to like it!"
-Modern Family

“Be strong and of good courage. You are truly a royal spirit daughter of almighty God, and you are a Princess destined to become a Queen. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your once upon a time now.”
-President Dieter F. Uchdorf
“Are we not framers of our own destiny? Are we not the arbitrators of our fate?”
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
“There are two ways you can live your life: as if nothing is a miracle or as if everything is a miracle.”-Albert Einstein
“You cannot leave everything to fate. She has a lot to do sometimes you have to give her a hand.”
“Having somebody help you does not mean that you failed, it just means that you are not in it alone.”
“Most people don’t meet their goals because they aim too high and they miss, but when they aim low they hit the target.” –David Osmond
"Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss; but every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and once you do, nothing will ever compare."-Flipped
“My counsel for all of us is to look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, not mariner so lost but what its beacon light can rescue. It beckons through the storms of life. The lighthouse of the Lord sends forth signals readily recognized and never failing.”
–President Thomas S. Monson
“I have come to realize that I am like an old $20 bill crumpled, torn, dirty, abused, and scarred, but I am still a $20 bill. I am still worth something, even though I may not look like much, and even though I have been battered, and used, I am still worth the full $20.”
-President Dieter F. Uchdorf

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers...

Have you ever noticed that MC's tell you to give it up for someone when you just got done giving it up for them. Goodness MC's We just gave it up, why do you need us to give it up yet AGAIN?!?!

Maybe love is a grown up version of Santa Clause

Ready for another song that I love?!?!? I am really on a roll tonight with great music! Here is a great one by Bruno Mars

Count On Me Lyrics

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
I'll be the light to guide you

Find out what we're made of
What we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there 'cause that's what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh

If you toss and you turn and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Everyday I will remind you

Find out what we're made of
What we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there 'cause that's what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah

You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go, never say goodbye

You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there and I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there 'cause that's what friends
Are supposed to do, oh yeah, ooh, ooh

You can count on me 'cause I can count on you

No matter what happens we can say we came, we saw, we tried

You know how good music speaks to your soul, well this song is definitley a great song for the soul! I love it!!!

Ninety and Nine Written By Michael McLean
I am one of the Ninety nine I am not perfect but basically I am doing fine
I have not lost my way and have not gone astray I am just one of 99

I’m hearing the heart of the fold I’m not mindless but I try to do as I told
I’m not tempted to run and become the lost one
I’m just hearing the heart of the fold

So why is my Sheppard coming this way towards me, he’s holding his arms out and calling my name and yes he is calling my name
How can this be I’m just on of the 99 I have stumbled and fallen but I have kept in line I’m not one he would seek I’m not that unique.

I’m just one of the 99

So why is my Sheppard treating me like his lost lamb and he is searching to find me
And he is holding me now and yes, he is holding me now and teaching me who I am
So why I am I feeling like I am the only one here it’s like I am his favorite
And he takes me aside and he sweetly confides these remarkable words in my ear

He says one of the 99
Have you any idea how brightly you shine
You are safe in this fold and it is time you were told
That I know where you’ve been so I’ll know where you’ll be
Because all of your life you have been following me

You are more than just one of the sands of the sea
Or just more than one of the ninety and nine NO

You are mine you are mine, yes you are mine, all mine

No matter the size of the issue, how we respond can reset the course of our life

Elder Top spoke to us at the institute forum a few weeks ago, and I loved the analogies he made! He really put the story of Peter walking on water into perspective. He talked about how when we hear the story we always focus on the end where Jesus said "oh ye of little faith..." We hear him and do what we interpret as berating Peter, and we think, oh yeah, silly Peter, how could you have so little faith with the Savior standing right beside you! Elder Top brought such perspective to the story and said we focus too much on the fact that Peter started sinking, but really, Peter got up when the savior reached down to help him up, and then Peter WALKED all the way back to the ship. He walked on water arm and arm with the savior, but we don't focus on that part of the story.
Elder top said "If you never cry out in those moments of sinking, you will never feel the majesty of his hands reaching down to save you." He related a story of his grandson who was scared to death of vacuums, and stairs, and when he was holding the child he would face his fears, and touch the vacuum, and take the stairs two at a time, but when he tried by himself he just stood there and cried. He knows that if he cries for help his loving Grandfather will reach down and take his hand and the Savior is the same way! He is just waiting for us to call on him and reach out our hands so he can help us. :) This thought made me feel so warm and fuzzy. It is so true. We are so loved by a Heavenly Father, and he wants so badly to help us, he just wants us to ask. I was thinking the other day that our Father in Heaven doesn't want to force us to ask him for help, he wants us to show him we want help from him. Sometimes I get annoyed when my parents force their help on me, and try to give me advice when I don't want it or don't think I need it, and Heavenly Father knows this, and he won't bug us and nag us, he lets us come to him in our own time.
Elder Top quoted C.S. Lewis who said, "Sometimes the Lord knocks us silly to teach us what we say we believe." I loved this thought. We can sit here and preach all we want, but in the end we have to prove it. We can do anything through the Lord. Elder Top also said "The Lord will shape your spine to carry the cross placed on it." That is so true!!! We have a Father in Heaven who loves us, and gives us trials to help us get back to him. Without trials, we would not become perfected, and would not be able to make it back to him.
President Hinkely said, "Our problems lie in our fears." Sometimes we are so afraid of change, or anything that we don't know, but really we just need to put our faith in the Lord.
Another great thing Elder Top said was that when we hear miraculous stories from the pulpit we instantly compare their strongest strengths to our weakest weaknesses. "When we compare our weakest weaknesses to other's strengths, we always come up short." Lastly he said "challenges to our faith are not external, but internal." We are our own worst enemies. We come up with our own challenges to our faith, and over analyze things, and make them bigger problems then they really are.
Oh man! What a great forum! I loved it! So great!!!!!

Though some days may disappoint us, there is light at the end of each night

We have had so many great institute forums lately! I love it! I am going to share the last one by David Osmond. He has had an extraordinary life, and he was so refreshing! He said " Don't ask yourself 'why me' unless you want to ask why all of the good things happend to you too." I love that thought, sometimes we get caught up in pity parties asking how could this happen to me? I'm a good person, yada yada, but really, so many great and wonderful things happen to each of us every day, so we should be counting our blessings more often, and minimizing the bad things because life is full of bumps and bruises, and tests and trials, as David Osmond's father said "life is tough, but so are you!" He mentioned that TESTimony is so important. It is totally a result of our tests and trials through life. I loved that thought! It is so wonderful to remember why we are here in this life. We are here to learn and to get back to our father in heaven.
Goals were also a subject of discussion, David said "Most people don't meet their goals because they aim too high and they miss, but when they aim low they hit the target." I loved this! It is so true, how easy is it to make a basket when you are playing with one of those kiddy basketball hoops, but then when you face the real thing it is a little more difficult, and takes more practice, and concentration.
The best thing David said is "There is joy to be had!" I love that. He was referring to life in the gospel and the joy it brings, and it is so true! There is sooooo much joy to had! It is ripe for the taking! AH! I love it!!! He quoted "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience." I love that quote so much! It totally puts things into perspective of why we are here, and what we have to accomplish.
The last quote that really hit me was one that I'd heard before too. It is "the church is not a retreat for the saints, it's a hospital for the sinners."
To end my little David Osmond rant I want you to read they lyrics to his song. I want to just buy all of his music!!! He is soooo amazing!!! This song is so powerful, and really puts life into perspective.

Loneliest Walk-David Osmond
"She pushes 'L' on that old elevator door
Her heart is broken, arms are bare
The doors are closing and she's staring at the floor
There's still a piece of her up there

It seems like yesterday she saw him on the screen
Painted a room and picked out names
But now she has to leave him under big machines
To keep alive his tiny frame
She's on the way to her car but it's never felt this far

With each step she takes there's another to follow
And one more ache, one more tear to swallow
She's gotta keep moving,
Forget about the bruising inside
Through the loneliest walk of her life

He pushes up his glasses, staring at her name
One last time before he leaves
He saw this coming but to see it now, engraved
It's still so hard to believe

It seems like yesterday they kissed and made their vows
Her favorite flowers in her hair
He's staying later than they normally allow
Clutching those flowers in a prayer
And on the way to their front door, no hand to hold there anymore

With each step he takes there's another to follow
And one more ache, one more tear to swallow
He's gotta keep moving,
Forget about the bruising inside
Through the loneliest walk of his life
He pushes up the board they've tied onto his shoulders
He bears, with dignity, disgrace
He hears the jeering and the wind is getting colder
Tastes the blood upon his face

His body bruised an back still open from the scourges
The consequence of wicked men
He knows no man on earth has ever deserved this
But still He bears it all for them
And He keeps moving up the hill to do His Father's will

With each step He takes there's another to follow
And one more ache, one more tear to swallow
We all stand by and watch as the price is paid
Through the loneliest walk of His life
So we don't feel alone in the night
We can have His hand holding the light
Through the loneliest walk of our lives.
Keep pushing through this lonely walk you're going through
'Cause someone's walked this way before

Don't feel bad for the suicidal cats, they're gotta kill themselves nine times before they get it right

So I don't know who wrote this, but I love it!

Go placidly amid the nose and the haste, and remember what peace there is in silence.
Go as far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plan.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise cation in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery, but let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection, neither be cynical about love, for in the face of aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the the grass.
Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond the wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here, and whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all it's sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful, strive to be happy.

You've got a jump in your step, but a rip in your rep

I would like to dedicate this blog to Raising Hope. Seriously that show is SOOO funny! The premise sounds kind of weird, it's about a guy who had a one night stand with a convinced felon, and then she got the electric chair, and he got the baby. It sounds weird, but it is so funny! Let me just share a few quotes:

"We are responsible we're just also and also passionate and spontaneous." -Virginia
"Those are also our gladiator names if we are ever on American Gladiator."-Burt
"Which we might do, because we're spontaneous!"-Virginia

"I'm still reeling from that 13th astrological sign. I kind of need to reevaluate a lot of things, and remove a tattoo." -Gas guy

"Boy the homeless people in this town have great nicknames!"-Jimmy

"Why does my room smell like old people?"-Maw Maw
"Because yesterday we let an old person go in there."-Virginia

"I'm donating a kidney to the mayor"-Burt
"Why would you be giving a kidney to the mayor? You voted for the other guy."-Jimmy
"Can't you put petty politics aside for day Jimmy, the man's life is at stake!"-Burt
"The mayor is a woman."-Jimmy
"Can't you just let me have this? This is as close as I'll ever get to being mayor."-Burt

"We'll have to do a coin toss. Heads I win, tails you loose? Tails...you loose..."-Virginia
"Dang it! I never win coin tosses!"-Burt

Isn't Hope seriously sooo cute?!!? She has the funniest faces in the show!

Love is friendship on fire

Have you ever noticed how when your friends get married they disappear? Like there is a married only black hole that they get sucked into. So you don't hear from them for months, then suddenly they text you and say "GUESS WHAT? I'M PREGNANT!!!" They reappear for about 9 months, then you see them at the baby shower, then POOF! They disappear again!
I mean I get that when you get married things are different, but when I get married, I still want to have friends! Is that breaking some kind of married protocol? I dono...
Another thing about marriage that scares me is all of the horror stories, and trust me working at a salon you get to hear them all!!!
This one woman's husband was cheating on her for fifteen years! FIFTEEN YEARS?!?!?! I can't even imagine! I am so scared of getting married, and having the perfect little life, then one day waking up, and my husband doesn't love me anymore. How does that even happen. Obviously he stopped trying, and stopped working at the relationship. I guess quality #1 in a husband-hard worker! haha!
This was crazy: two women getting their hair done side by side had almost identical stories! Both of their husbands not only left them, but they were both due to drugs! Secret drug addicts, and the wives had no idea!
Almost daily at the salon I get told how lucky I am to be single. How sad is that? We live in such a scary time!!! This is one reason I don't get why people rush into marriage. You are in the "honeymoon stage" for almost two years (I'm not saying that you should date two years or anything...), therefore when you marry someone right off the bat, you don't even know the real them. You are still putting your best foot forward. It is just so scary to me to jump into such a big thing especially with so many divorces.
Anyway those are just my thoughts for the day on marriage. This little boy on the playground the other day said "Just do your best and listen to your heart." Great advice! haha
