Big hearts are for breaking

HUGS!!!!!
I love HUGS!
I was talking to my friend Erik today, and he said some very nice things! First he complimented my skill of hugging and said I am the number one best hugger. :) He also said that I deserve a boy who will just love me and hug me! I agree!!
My favorite thing that he said was about how I am using some sort of reverse psychology to become the most loved person in the ward through my hugs! haha! It was a funny conversation, but it got me thinking. Everyone needs a hug, and I am so glad that I have hugs to offer! I feel like it breaks down personal barriers and allows people to become connected in a way that nothing else can do.
I am so grateful for the blessing in my life of something as simple as hugs! I love it when people tell me I give the best hugs! I really do love hugging and I guess when you love something you become great at it! :)
YAY for hugs!

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet."-Juliet

You hear your name, and your first impulse is to turn around. So you do. They aren't talking to you. You turn back around pretending that it didn't happen, when suddenly it happens again! You turn back with a smile..Once again, same name, wrong girl. Getting a little frustrated with the situation you vow not to turn around next time even if your curiosity gets the best of you. You have got to end these embarrassing moments! So five minutes later when you hear your name once again, with every fiber of your being you try to distract yourself, and this time the voice repeats your name louder. This angers you. Hello, you are trying SO hard to ignore this mistaken name, and your curiosity is popping out in every direction, what if they really are talking to you? Alas, you were mistaken twice before already, so you keep walking. Two minutes later your friend taps you on the shoulder looking quite annoyed, and insists she had been calling your name for the past two minutes...WOOOPS!
Jessica Simpson
Jessica Alba
Jessica Biel
Jessica Rabbit...I am completely surrounded!!!!
I just have to laugh when I'm in a group and for example there are two Kim's. One of the Kim's says "This is so confusing having two Kims!" To that I counter, um...really? Welcome to my life!
Just for a little break down there are:
8 Jessica's in my ward.
3 Jessica's in my apartment complex
I work with a Jessica at my salon and as the cherry on top I live with a Jessica...share a room in fact! So if you think your life is confusing when one time there is one other person with your same name, just think for one second about how it is to be a Jessica. :)
Thus the burden of a girl born in the 80's!

You don't deserve my tears, I guess that's why they ain't there!

I am so grateful for the influence of the spirit in my life. I had a fantastic experience a few weeks ago! First of all I never take my wallet to the gym, but this particular day I decided to stop by the store after the gym, so I did have my wallet. After the gym I debated over and over, and tried to talk myself out of going to the store, and I decided to just go anyway even though I didn't want to. It just so happened that the isles of the parking lot were the certain diagonal that you had to go a certain way, and as fate (or the holy ghost) would have It I went down a particular isle and took the first spot I saw parking next to a woman standing outside her car. I asked if she needed help and she said she was waiting for the person parked in front of her to come out. I asked why, and she said so that they could give her a jump, to which I responded "uh, I could give you a jump. I am right here, and my car is next to yours..."

I practically had to convince her to let me help her other then waiting for who knows how long in the hot sun for whoever the owner of the car in front of her was. I slid my car over, and just like that she was on her way. She thanked me and said that she really was grateful. She didn't know what to do because her husband was out of town. :)

The Lord works in mysterious ways! He had been preparing me all day to help this woman! :) I Love little experiences like this!

I'd also just like to say that when looking for a photo for this blog all of the pictures that came up were of girls jumping their cars! haha! Girl power!

No one can diminish you, but yourself

It is so scary how just one little letter can effect your entire day, and quite possibly your entire life!

I got a voicemail a few days ago informing me that there was a penny lawsuit being filed against me and that there were some sealed documents that I needed to receive. Panicked and trying to remember any time in my entire life that I had ever broken the law I had my co-worker listen to the message. She instantly said CALL THEM BACK! We were both terrified! I called back, and while upon later reflection I think it might have been a huge scam altogether, the man on the phone said "Is this Jessica J. Hobbs?" Instantly relief washed over me! "Actually this is Jessica M. Hobbs!" WHEW! One letter later he realized that he had the wrong Jessica Hobbs. How terrifying!

I hate that feeling! I never want to feel it again!!!

Enjoy the go

I have come to a realization, and possibly a new life motto! "You've just got to spring for the good stuff!

Okay let's break it down. You spend $2.00 on a roll of toilet paper, and it lasts you a day and half because it is to thin you have to use half the roll each use. On the other hand you spend $5 on a roll of something like Charmin, and it lasts a whole week or longer! Seriously people what is the better deal? You really just have to spring for the good stuff!!!

Shampoo, you buy suave, and your hair feels like crap. You are only spending $3.00 a bottle though. Then one day you are introduced to salon quality shampoo, that costs $12.00 a bottle, and though the price is daunting your hair suddenly feels like silk, and you realize what you have been missing all these years! SERIOUSLY! Spring for the good stuff!

Another hair related thing. Hair dye. Oh man if you won't give up your three dollar grocery store brand shampoo, PLEASE....PLEASE do not buy grocery store hair dye!!!! It RUINS your hair! When you want to change the color it is nearly impossible, and takes 50 times longer! Do yourself and your hairdresser a favor, SPRING FOR THE GOOD STUFF!

Pens. We have all been there, you find a steal of a deal on some cheap pens, and they quit working...it's worth it to spring from the good stuff!

I could go on and on! I know there are some things that it's perfectly fine to buy the off brand, or the cheaper version, but please learn to use your best judgement! Is it really worth it? Would you rather buy three to make up for one good one?

Proud of me, that's the only way I want you to be!

Why are people in the world so flaky? I started a dinner club as a fun little thing to do with friends, and it has become such a headache. The idea is simple. I text everyone on Sunday and let them know that the upcoming Thursday is dinner club what the theme is, and tell them to text me back if they are coming for an assignment. Already it's pretty simple all you have to do is respond a simple yes or no, and I do the rest! Assigning the food, making ride arrangements if needed, and even reminder texts Thursday afternoon (because people can for some reason never remember when they have committed to something they volunteer to do.). It's pretty simple!

Somehow still people don't respond, either ever, or until about two hours before dinner club starts, by then I have everything figured out and while my motto is "the more the merrier" it's a little inconvenient for something a dinner club where people are counting on other people to have the vital parts of a meal.

Of those who do respond even still two or three inevitably text two hours before and say they can't come. Okay...uh great, no problem we'll either just go without a salad, or I'll have to make it now. Do you see now why it's super annoying and totally rude to not RSVP and stick with it?

I completely understand that things happen, and that's fine, when someone invites you to a party fine, don't commit to show up. Come and go as you please, but this is totally different! People of the world make up your minds and BE RESPONSIBLE!!! Take charge of your life, make a commitment and stick to it!

Thank you. I now step down from my soapbox.

18. Four Corners-Kim Conger and I have been dreaming and planning of this day for years! We really just need to hop in a car and go see it! It's the beauty of being in four places at once!
